The Buttocks,
or what I call the "Glutes"
The glutes (gluteus maximus,
gluteus medius,
and gluteus minimus) are the largest mass of muscle in the human
body.
Gluteal massage is essential for relief of
lower back
pain. The piriformis, the muscle underlying two layers of
gluteal muscle, is generally the culprit that causes
sciatic
pain.
However, this is a very personal area, and
many people feel uncomfortable with gluteal massage. I promise
to treat your body with the highest level of respect an
professionalism, but if you feel uncomfortable with work in this
area, let's discuss your concerns.
I routinely undrape one side of the buttocks while
working on that side, still leaving you properly draped at all
times. If this makes you uncomfortable, I can
work through
the drape or skip the glutes entirely and rely on
stretches to soothe those muscles.
