Massage Pricing
If you've noticed that my pricing is a little
different from most massage therapists, here's why.
Q: If a 60 minute massage
costs $70, why does a 90 minute massage cost only $20 more?
Shouldn't it cost another $35?
A: In terms of overhead, each massage costs me
the same amount of money for scheduling, paperwork, laundry,
sanitizing the equipment, and so forth. Additional time doesn't
cost me any more, so I pass the savings to you. The result: you
can get a 90 minute massage for the price of two 30 minute
massages.
Q: I had another massage
therapist in the area who only charged $60 for an hour massage. Why do you
charge $70?
A: Two reasons:
- I'm Nationally Certified
in Therapeutic Massage and
Bodywork, a nationally recognized standard for competence
and ethics.
- Other massage therapists charge for a
"therapeutic hour," which is really only 45 to 50 minutes;
the rest of the hour is time for you to dress and undress.
My hour is a full 60 minutes, beginning from the
first massage stroke. If you can not remain for the full
hour, I do not charge the full amount.
Q: I'm handicapped, and I
really need a massage, but I can't afford the $25 outcall
charge.
A: I waive the outcall charges for people who
are physically unable to come to the office.
Q: I came in for a
massage last month, but I didn't know I you were running a
special!
