Undraped Massage
Although massage without the top drape is
common in Europe and on the west coast, I am one of the few
legitimate massage therapists in the area to offer undraped
massage. By "legitimate," I mean
nationally certified,
licensed, legal, ethical, and
non-sexual.
There are some valid reasons for choosing to
go undraped:
- Proper draping takes about six minutes
away from your massage. That's 10% of a one hour massage.
- Some people get too hot under the drape.
- Some people are annoyed by the feeling of
the drape moving around.
- Esalen massage works best without the
drape or with minimal draping. I would not be able to offer
Esalen style without this option.
- Some clients relax better without the
drape. Many of my clients are from the nudist/naturist/skinnydipper
community and they shed some of their tension along with
their clothing.
There are some good reasons for choosing to
use the drape:
- It's your first session. I recommend
using the drape until you feel comfortable with me.
- Some people get cold without it. Even
some of my card-carrying nudist clients use a drape in the
winter.
- The drape makes you feel more secure,
snug, safe, or comfortable. Being the only naked one in the
room can be intimidating even if you aren't the least bit
shy.
- Modesty.
About
a third of my clients prefer to be undraped. I'll treat your body with the same respect and
professionalism either way;
I only ask that you choose the
method that will best help you feel relaxed and comfortable.
It should go without saying that if you choose
to go undraped, you have to behave
yourself.* If you can't deal with nudity in a non-sexual
environment, then please use the drape.
