Massage Near the Breasts
I mostly work on muscle tissue. Since
breasts do not contain muscle tissue, I don't massage female
breasts unless you have a specific need for it. However, I
do routinely work on the chest muscles near the
draped breasts. If you
feel that this area is too personal for body work, please
voice your concerns.
Breast Massage
Breast self-massage should be a part of your
feminine health regimen, along with breast self exams (see below). You can find
a simple, easy to learn
online
breast self-massage video at this link (contains nudity)
or
a different technique at this link
(does
not contain nudity.)As a general rule,
breast massage is not needed or appropriate as part of your
Tranquility Time massage, so I do not routinely massage breasts.
However, if you
need more than a self-massage, I offer lymph
drainage therapy for the breasts. Most women experience tenderness,
fullness, pain, or congestion in their breasts at one time or another. Lymphatic
drainage therapy is a gentle, fast, effective way to promote breast health and
relieve symptoms from swollen breast tissue.
Why Ask for Breast Massage?
- Congestion and Swelling
- Discomforts of Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, or Weaning
- Premenstrual or Menopausal Tenderness
- Breast Pain
- Breast Injuries
- Post-Surgical Symptoms
- Because the massage just feels unfinished without it!
What to Expect
Breast massage is quick, professional, and not the least bit
erotic. The technique that I use requires undraping one breast while working on
it. If that is a problem, we'll use a less effective but more modest technique.
Sometimes I can get the lymph to flow without actually touching the breasts. We will discuss all of this in greater detail before you allow me to start.
Note: I require
written permission
to
perform breast
massage
on a female client. Again: breast
massage is not erotic.
Breast Cancer
A startling number of my friends,
relatives, and clients have battled breast cancer, so I urge
women to conduct monthly Breast Self Exams, or BSEs, and get
regular clinical breast exams and mammograms.
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation has
an
excellent online tutorial on how you can perform a BSE.
They are quick and easy to do, and they can save your life.
If you have pain and swelling from a healed
breast surgery, lymph drainage may be
appropriate for you. Why not give it a try? Call
214-395-8000 for your appointment.
You
deserve it!
Large or Painful Breasts
If
you are uncomfortable lying face down, please ask for a
comfort bolster (or "the boobie pillow," as most of my
clients call it). This will take the pressure off your
breasts and allow a more comfortable
massage. (It's great for
nursing moms!)
If you ask for the comfort bolster when
you call 214-395-8000 for your appointment, I will
have it set up on the table when you arrive.
